Q1.What is the "EXPO Eco-Money"?
It is a kind of special money created for the enhancement of the global environment with a limited circulation inside the site of "EXPO 2005 AICHI, JAPAN", from March 25 till September 25, 2005, when the first World EXPO of the 21st century is held in Nagoya Eastern Hills (Nagakute Town, Toyota City and Seto City). Your "Eco-activities" recorded within the site as well as at the off-site supporting stores (Supporter), will be regarded as the Eco-Money, and you will be able to use it at the EXPO site.

Q2.What are the objectives of the "EXPO Eco-Money" project?
It is to have citizens, governments and businesses collaborate for the reduction of green house gases (such as carbon dioxide) that cause global warming, one of serious worldwide environment problems, through re-evaluating the ongoing lifestyle where a society takes mass production, mass consumption and mass wastage so much as a matter of course.

Q3.What are "Eco-activities"?
"Eco-activities" approved by the "EXPO Eco-Money" project include such actions as the implementation of the Eco-declaration and refusal of plastic shopping bags when offered by a store.. "Eco-activities" you can do within the EXPO site include participation in the environmental education and the purchase of eco-products.

Q4.How can you collect the "EXPO Eco-Money"?
You can collect the "EXPO Eco-Money" on the EXPO admission ticket.
When you decline a plastic shopping bag at the supporting stores outside the site, you are given a receipt or sticker or stamp as proof of your action. You take it with the admission ticket to the EXPO Eco-Money center and get an acceptance stamp on the proof.
After this, the "EXPO Eco-Money" is issued to you. In case you perform eco-activities inside the site, the EXPO Eco-Money is issued directly onto your admission ticket utilizing the IT systems.

Q5.What happens to the receipt, sticker, or stamp that is acknowledged as "EXPO Eco-Money"?
Even after "EXPO Eco-Money" is issued to you, you can continue to use such receipt, sticker or stamp at the supporting stores.
*You can do so only when the supporting stores offer special benefits with such receipt, sticker, or stamp.

It is located at the Global Commons near the West Gate of Nagakute Area. To find it, please look for this huge symbol mark.

Q7.What are the business hours of "EXPO Eco-Money center"?
It is open every day during the EXPO period.
Opening hours are:
11:00 - 20:30 (from March 25 through April 25)
11:00 - 21:00 (from April 26 through September 24)
11:00 - 19:00 (September 25)

Q8.Are there support stores (Supporter) inside the EXPO site as well?
Yes. They are at; [shop space of some official participating countries in each Global Commons etc.] and [some of the environmental education program sites]. To find them, please look for EXPO Eco-Money posters and symbols.

Q9.What is the system of "EXPO Eco-Money"?
When you buy an EXPO admission ticket, you get at first one point.If you eco-act, the one point becomes effective.
If you decline a plastic shopping bag at the supporting stores, or every time you carry out eco-activity within the site, one point will be added. Each Eco-activity is counted as one point.

Q10.What can you use "EXPO Eco-Money" for?
The following is your choice.
- Go into the prize competition for Eco-tours and Eco-products.[More than 2 points]
- Exchange the points with Eco-products.[More than 3 points]
*This exchange can be done at the EXPO Eco-Money Center.
- Whenever you apply for participation in the prize competition or get the Eco-products , one point of which is automatically donated to afforestation and become the benefit of Society.
- Donation for afforestation.
*This Donation is accepted at the Eco-Money Center.
You will attach a commemorative sticker to the Notice board "Tree of acorns".
- Donation of 50 points or more
You will be awarded with the "Eco-Money tree planting certificate".

Q11.How can you apply for the prize competition with 2 points?
There are 3 ways to apply;
1. You can access to "Apply here" on this website, and fill in the application form (for personal computer user/ for cellular phone user).
2. You can use the designated post card.
* You can find such post card in the leaflet provided at the on-site Supporters (retail shops or each nation's pavilion). They are also available at the locations marked with "EXPO Eco-Money" symbols on the EXPO site.
3. At the EXPO Eco-Money center, you can get the designated post card and post it there. (The center is located at the Global Commons 3 of Nagkute Area.)

Q12.What are the prizes?
There are 3 prize courses. When entering the competition, you must choose a course you prefer. For any of these 3 courses, you can apply with 2 points.
*The application of B course was closed on June 15th.
Course A : Invitation to the overseas eco-tour: active eco-tour "tree-planting tour in Cairns"
(3 nights 5 days) Total 10 couples/ 20 people
Tour scheduled for early November/ your application must arrive by Sept. 30th / Departure and arrival is at Centrair Airport
Course B : Invitation to the domestic eco-tour: active eco-tour "the tour to participate in and experience the eco-program"
"Learn at TOYOTA Shirakawa-Go Eco-Institute"
(1 night and 2 days) Total 20 couples / 40 people
Tour scheduled for mid-July/ your application must arrive by June 15/ Departure and arrival is at Nagoya Station
Course C : Get a present of Eco-products [Thinned wood products etc. ] (Total 100 people)
